Rose Potion
White Tea, Pandanus, Rose Otto, Rose Damascena, Mysore Sandalwood and Tolu Balsam
Rose Potion was inspired by a most beautiful canister of very special Chinese tea balls that was given to me as a gift from Shanghai.
The outer portion of each tea ball was comprised of Longjing (dragon well) green tea, but each unfolding beauty contained an elaborate bouquet of rose buds and chrysanthemums that continued to unfold and fill the glass pot with an exquisite floral work of art. The flavour was exquisite and the experience, deeply mesmerising.
I sought to create a similar unfolding beauty in a fragrance. Appearing at first as a simple rose fragrance, the potion unfolds gently, imperceptibly until the full composition is revealed as a puzzle, a meditation, a deeply entrancing moment of stillness and wonder.
